What are the differences between delegate and reassign in Oracle Fusion Procurement?

This is the question which I am going to explain in detail with practical examples. The approver can reassign or delegate his authority to another approver during vacation period. The system behaves differently with each functionality. Reassign and Delegate will work as described below:

  • The reassign action transfers the task to another user or group. The task will then be routed based on the specified user’s hierarchy.
  • The delegate action allows another user to act on your behalf.

Delegate

Below example is presuming the manager hierarchy goes as follows:

Now imagine, Approver 3 has a vacation rule set up to “Delegate to” Approver 5 under their Vacation Rule. This is what will happen when Approver 3 delegates his approves rules to Approver 5.

Buyer will submit the PO and the application will begin the approval process and the vacation delegation will fire.
Approver 3 will receive a WORKLIST notification to approve — ALSO Approver 5 will receive both WORKLIST and Bell Icon notification to approve
